TOXIC ITEMS PROPERLY STORED, LABELED AND USED - Comments: Only such poisonous and toxic materials as are required to maintain sanitary conditions may be used in food establishments and they shall not be used in any hazardous manner. Unlabeled bottles and mislabeled chemicals were found in several classrooms. Squirt bottles labeled Quaternary Ammonia had orange based cleaner inside. Vinegar bottles relabeled glass cleaner and again relabeled orange cleaner found. The chemical company was changed recently and management was counseled to evaluate which chemicals were needed and to control who has access to them. Label all bottles in use correctly with said contents. Store all cleaning supplies away from food and single use food staws, cups and plates.
Dirty surfaces attract pests and can contaminate food indirectly.
Non-food contact surfaces must be kept clean.
Clean as often as necessary; Remove grease and debris; Maintain equipment exteriors; Keep walls, ceilings, floors clean.
